Terms and Conditions

ALightSpace is an AI interior design platform. These Terms are an agreement between you and one of two companies, depending on where you live:

• If you live in Africa: THE LIGHT DESIGN FACTORY LIMITED, registered in Nigeria (RC 1874519), 5B, Abeke Animashaun St, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, Nigeria.
• If you live anywhere else: The Light Design Factory LLC, a Delaware company, 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958, USA.

In these Terms, "we" means that company. The same company is responsible for your personal data under our Privacy Policy. By creating an account or using ALightSpace you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the Affiliate Disclosure. Contact: legal@alightspace.ai.

You must be 13 or older. If you are 13 to 17, a parent or guardian must approve your account before it can be used, and by approving it they agree to these Terms for you and are responsible for your use.

Until you turn 18 you cannot buy credits or plans, use designer services, join the public showcase or receive marketing emails. These limits lift automatically on your 18th birthday.

If you use ALightSpace for a business, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms for it.

Give us accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Each person may hold one account; free starter credits are one per person. Tell us at support@alightspace.ai if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, and we will explain why where we can.

You keep ownership of the photos and other material you upload ("your content"). As between you and us, and as far as the law allows, you also own the designs generated from it. We do not claim ownership of either.

You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process and display your content, to send it to our AI provider to create your designs, and, if you choose "Work with a designer", to share the project with the matched designer. We use this licence only to provide and protect the service. It ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the deletion timelines in our Privacy Policy.

We will show your designs publicly only if you opt in to the showcase. That permission is separate, and you can withdraw it at any time.

You promise that you have the right to upload your content, that it does not break anyone's rights, and that anyone shown in it has agreed. We do not use your photos to train our own AI models.

Do not use ALightSpace to:

• upload anything illegal, abusive, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• upload photos of people without their permission;
• create more than one account to collect free credits, or otherwise get around credits, limits or payments;
• scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing AI product;
• try to move a designer or customer off ALightSpace to avoid in-app communication or payment, or contact them outside the platform about a project found here;
• interfere with the service, its security, or other users.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

Our designs are visual ideas created by AI. They are not architectural, structural, electrical or engineering plans, and they are not professional advice. Colours, sizes, products and proportions in a design may not match what is possible or available in your space. Check measurements and get a qualified professional before you build, renovate or buy.

Results can differ from one run to the next, and other users may receive similar images. We do not promise that a design suits your space or budget. You may use your designs for your own personal or business purposes, including presenting them to clients, subject to the law and these Terms.

Credits. One image generation costs 10 credits, deducted only after the image is created successfully. A failed generation costs nothing. Free credits are one per person and are not a promise of future free credits.

Credit packs. Packs expire as stated when you buy: 12 months for the Starter and Standard packs, and no expiry for the Pro pack. Expired credits are removed, but your saved images are not.

Plans. Plans are one-off purchases, not subscriptions, and do not renew automatically.

Prices and currency. Prices are shown in your local currency where we support it (for example US dollars or Nigerian naira) and stay fixed for the period shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe or Flutterwave. Taxes are included or added at checkout as the law requires.

Refunds. If a paid designer project cannot be matched, we refund it automatically. Unused credit packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or other right the law gives you.

Age. Only users aged 18 or over can buy credits or plans.

Designers on ALightSpace are independent, HappySpace-certified professionals. They are not our employees, and we do not guarantee any particular result from their work.

How it works. Buying a designer plan starts a designer engagement. You send a brief, we show you your top matches, you choose one, and the designer reviews your project and accepts or declines inside ALightSpace. A designer who does not respond within 24 hours is replaced by the next match.

Payment held until approval. Your payment is held when you buy the plan. The designer's share is released to them when you give final approval of the project or the plan's revision limit is reached. If we cannot match your project, you are refunded automatically.

Revisions. The number of revisions depends on your plan.

Stay on ALightSpace. All messages and files stay inside the platform. Designers do not see your name or contact details, and you agree not to share them or take the project elsewhere.

Your deliverables. Once the project is complete and paid, you may use the designer's finished work for your space.

Not available under 18. Designer services are for users aged 18 and over.

"Shop the look" shows products sold by independent stores. We are not the seller. The store sets the price, stock, delivery and returns, and your purchase is a contract between you and that store. Prices and availability are shown as of the date displayed and may change, and each product states the regions it ships to.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links. This never changes the price you pay. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Donations to the HappySpace Project are voluntary. They support design work in underserved communities in Africa. Once made, a donation is not refundable, except where the law requires or a payment was made in error. A donation is not a payment for any service and does not change what you receive from ALightSpace.

Your designs and photos are kept as long as your account is open. You can delete any image, or your whole account, at any time, and we permanently delete it within 30 days.

Accounts that have ever bought credits or a plan are never deleted for inactivity. A free account that has not been used for 24 months may be deleted, after we email you three times, the first at least 90 days before deletion. Signing in at any point cancels that.

We recommend you also download designs you want to keep. Our Privacy Policy gives the full detail.

ALightSpace is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or that its designs, prices or product information are accurate.

We are not responsible for the stores, products, delivery or returns you deal with through our links, or for work done by independent designers, beyond what the law requires of us.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Talk to us first. If you have a problem, email legal@alightspace.ai. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.

Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, it will be decided by binding arbitration rather than in court, on an individual basis. You and we each waive the right to bring or join a class action. Either side may still go to a small-claims court for a claim that fits there, and either side may ask a court to stop misuse of intellectual property.

Your legal rights. If the law where you live gives you consumer rights that cannot be waived, these Terms do not take them away.

Changes. We may update these Terms. For a material change we will email active users and show a notice in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using ALightSpace and delete your account before then. Continued use afterwards means you accept the new Terms.

Ending. You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or the law. Sections that by their nature should continue (content licences, payments already made, liability, disputes) continue after your account ends.

General. If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and us about ALightSpace.
